FAQs
What is covered in your free intro call?
I offer a 20‑minute phone or video call for anyone considering counselling. It’s a chance to talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any initial questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit. We’ll keep it brief and focused, so you can decide whether you’d like to book a full consultation.
Who are you registered with?
I’m an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means my work meets the professional and ethical standards set by the organisation.
How long does each therapy session take?
Session last 50 minutes.
How often will we meet?
Most clients attend weekly, as this creates continuity and supports the therapeutic process. We can discuss what feels manageable for you.
How should I prepare for a session?
No preparation is needed. You’re welcome to come as you are. Some people find it helpful to reflect on what they’d like to focus on, but it’s not required.
What can I expect in my first counselling session?
Your first session is a chance for you to talk through what brings you to therapy and what you’re hoping for. I’ll ask some gentle questions to understand your experiences, and you can share whatever feels comfortable. By the end, we’ll have a clearer sense of whether working together feels right and what the next steps might be.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people come for a short period to focus on a specific issue, while others prefer longer‑term work. We can explore what feels right for you as therapy unfolds.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential. There are a few legal and ethical exceptions, which I will explain clearly in our first session.
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
Finding the right fit is an important part of therapy. You’re welcome to book an initial session to get a sense of how I work and whether this space feels supportive for you. There’s no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel like the right match.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for 72 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice are charged in full.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer sessions online via a secure video platform. Some clients choose to work entirely online, while others combine online and in‑person sessions depending on their needs.
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, I currently accept BUPA, Aviva, Cigna and Vitality.
What is the cost per session?
£77 - Individual Counselling (18+)
£60 - Students, key workers and OAPs
Payment for the initial consultation is made at the end of the session by cash or bank transfer. I’m not able to take card payments at this time.
